It is the First and Most Crucial Part of Marketing.

Understanding your Audience can help you in Creating the Product of Service According to their Needs.

In Marketing terms, it is called Understanding Consumer Behaviour.

It is one of the Most Powerful Facets of Marketing, which if Mastered can take you to Unimaginable Heights.

User Persona or Customer Avataar.

Customer Avataar or User Persona is how your Ideal target audience Would look like.

Creating personas can help you understand your user’s needs, experiences, behaviors, and goals.

It will cover the Demographics and Psychographics of Your Customer.

  • You can create more relevant content from the very start if you keep in mind the image of your customer.
  • Detailed targeting which saves ad budget and multiplies your sales.

You can also create more than one user Persona for different segments of your audience.

You Have to Do a Survey.

You can use Google Forms Which is Free for Creating a form.

I sell Online Personal Training Programs And Services.

So questions which I asked while creating my User Persona were:-

What is Your Current Height? (IN FEET AND INCHES)

What is Your Current Weight? (IN KG)

How Is Your Lifestyle Activity?

Do You Exercise Regularly?

If You Exercise, How Many Times a Week Do You Exercise?

What is Your Favourite Snack?

How many Meals Do you Have in A Day?

What is the Type of Your Training?

Mention Any Medical Conditions if Present.

Reason For Quitting Exercise in Past?

What is Your Present Fitness Goal?

Do You Prefer Home Workouts?

So As you Can See How we Can use different Feedbacks to Know our Customer Through a Survey.

Step 2( Distribute the Survey through Different Channels)

You Need to Reach out to as Many People as Possible. 

You must send the form with a humble Message and request.

Best Channels are:-

  • Public Groups on Facebook, Telegram, etc.
  • Friends and Relatives(Ask your close ones to send your form in their WhatsApp groups).
  • Share it on Other Social Media handles 
  • Email list if you have One

Step 3( Analyzing Responses and Sorting the Data)

Now that you have got a decent number of responses, its time to analyze them.

As You Can see I got 94 Responses.

Didn’t Get Enough Responses?

Don’t worry it’s ok even if you have feedback from a few people.

You can even Imagine and Create your own customer avatar with your understanding of the market.

Now you have to look at the data and see which people align perfectly with your service or product.

You can arrange the data in google form directly by clicking in the green icon next to responses.

With this, you will have a segment of people who have the same average details that match you, ideal customer.

In my case, my target Audience was Females between the ages 24-55 so I sorted my data accordingly.

Sort the information about that segment in one place.

Step 4( Creating the Final Customer Avatar)

Now you have to create the avatar.

From the sorted list of people, make an average of the details which are common in most and add it to your avatar.

Example of My case –

  • Like I Sorted all females between age 18-54.
  • Most of them earned 3-4 lakhs per anum.
  • The majority of them were in a Job or Freelancing.
  • Most of them loved badminton.
  • Most of them were Overweight and had fat loss/general fitness as their goal.

These were some of the examples of the details how is made an average according to my service or product.
